On Thursday, December 17, Chibli Mallat, a Professor of Law at the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law and the editor of the Lebanon Daily Star's legal page, published the first of several "conversations" with President Barack Obama based on a transcript of Obama's speech at the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony on December 9 in Oslo.

"Obama is an extraordinary political and intellectual figure," Mallat writes in the introduction, "which allows the world to engage with him at dizzying heights. Let us engage the US president into the worldwide conversation."
