Jay Earl Smith, class of 1980, passed away on February 6, 2012, after battling cancer. A Salt Lake City native, Smith had lived in Las Vegas for the past 32 years and was a widely respected member of the Nevada bar. He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Ellen; three daughters, Natalie (Joe), Jessica (Sam), and Tara (Jay); son, Jordan (Chelsea); mother, Barbara (Ed); eight grandchildren; four brothers and four sisters.
