Rosky Interviewed on Southern California Public Radio

Rosky-Clifford

On November 8, Clifford Rosky, Associate Professor of Law at the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law, was interviewed on AirTalk, a regular program on Southern California Public Radio in Los Angeles. The interview, conducted by AirTalk host Larry Mantle, addressed recent ballot initiatives related to same-sex marriage in Maine, Maryland, Washington, and Minnesota. In the first three states, voters approved laws allowing same-sex couples to marry. In Minnesota, voters rejected a constitutional amendment that would have prohibited same-sex couples from marrying.

During the interview, Rosky debated the significance of these election results with Brian Brown, the President of the National Organization for Marriage (NOM). NOM is one of the country's leading organization devoted to opposition to same-sex marriage, and it was responsible for organizing and funding the opposition to same-sex marriage in Maine, Maryland, Washington and Minnesota. Rosky argued that the election results were significant because, until last Tuesday, voters had opposed the legalization of same-sex marriage in 32 consecutive elections.
