College of Law to Host Law Night at Pioneer Theatre Company’s Production of “A Few Good Men”

Holbrook

On January 23, the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law and the Utah State Bar will collaborate on a special evening of live theatre combined with an informative pre-show program examining dynamics between lawyers, clients, and the “ever-elusive truth.”

The event, which begins at 5:30 with a check-in at the College of Law’s Sutherland Moot Courtroom and culminates with a 7:30 p.m. performance of A Few Good Men at Simmons Pioneer Memorial Theatre (next door to the College of Law), also includes a pre-show CLE panel discussion. The panel is hosted by Clinical Professor Jim Holbrook.

A Few Good Men was written by the brilliant playwright and screenwriter Aaron Sorkin (The West Wing, Charlie Wilson's War, Money Ball, and The Newsroom),” Holbrook said. “The play explores how, in representing clients, the truth is often elusive or at least multifaceted, especially in the context of military culture and Marine Corps values. These themes are important to lawyers and non-lawyers, alike, and the play's dialogue makes for compelling drama.”
