On Monday, January 6, the U.S. Supreme Court halted same-sex marriages in Utah, granting the state’s request for a stay while it appeals a federal district court’s ruling that the state's ban on same-sex unions was unconstitutional. The stay will remain in place until the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals decides on Utah’s appeal.
As news of the Supreme Court’s order spread, Clifford Rosky, Professor of Law at the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law, provided interviews to various local and national media outlets, including the Washington Post, The New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, NBC News, The Salt Lake Tribune, a second article in the Los Angeles Times, again in the Washington Post, U.S. News & World Report, KCPW radio, and again in The New York Times. More recently, he was also interviewed for an ABC News story.
He was also interviewed on camera by KUTV 2 for a story about U.S. Sen. Mike Lee's bill to protect individuals and organizations that do not support same-sex marriage from discrimination. Click here to access that story.
