Rene Uruena is Associate Professor and Director of the International Law Program at Universidad de Los Andes (Bogota, Colombia). He also belongs to its Global Justice and Human Rights Clinic, where he leads the practice on extractive industries and human rights. He earned his doctorate in law at the University of Helsinki (eximia cum laude), and holds a postgraduate degree in economics from the Universidad de Los Andes. He was a visiting fellow at New York University, and is a docent at the Institute for Global Law and Policy, at Harvard Law School. Rene has published extensively on international law and global governance, most recently the monograph "No Citizens Here: Global Subjects and Participation in International Law"(Martinus Nijhoff).
